whitchurch food festival

Last year Whitchurch's food shops and two of its restaurants joined forces between the 23rd June and 8th July to feature food produced in or very close to Whitchurch. The event formed part of the Hampshire Food Festival, then in its eight year, which celebrated all that is good in Hampshire food.

During the fortnight the Beehive Farm Shop, Harroway Organic Gardens, John Dennett's Butchers Shop, The Harvest Home and The White Hart featured food local produce.

Hampshire meats and Whitchurch made speciality sausages

The Harvest Home

Special Menu including dishes using meat from John Dennett and locally grown fruit and vegeatbles, including watercress

The Village Bakery

Locally baked bread and cakes, freshly made sandwiches, tea & coffee to take away

The White Hart Hotel

Special Menu including dishes featuring locally produced fruit, vegetables and meats plus specially made local preserves

This year between 1st and 26th July several more businesses are joining in and the team hope to participate in the Whitchurch Festival Carnival Procession and Family Fun Day on 5th July

Whitchurch also supports grow your own and hosts the Hamsphire Potato Days on the last weekend in January. Here around 140 varieties of seed potato are made available to the general public in quantities as small as 1 tuber. There's full details of the last event here.
